Description

Maratus is an indie video game development studio based in Belgium. We want our players to have fun, to connect with our characters, to explore themselves while they’re exploring Var’Nagal. We think everyone deserves to be represented and aren’t afraid to stand out from the crowd. Kindness, originality and quality are our most important values.

History

Creation

In 2018, Sylvain and Elene were trained in video game development for 6 months. The classes were given in Technocité, a training center based in Mons. Sylvain, with his developer background, learned the secrets of Game Design and Level Design. Elene, freshly out of Art School, discovered how to use her skills in the game industry. Anaïs, on her side, created a whole world from scratch for the tabletop role-play game she mastered. Elene was one her players, and she suggested her friend to associate to make games based on her world and stories. Maratus was born during the Creative Jam in Mons, in October 2018. The purpose of the jam was to test the viability of the group. For the three buddies, it was a wonderful experience. They were determined to work together on video game projects that would inspire them. After undergoing months of internship at Fishing Cactus for Sylvain and Elene, Maratus began the development of ARISEN on February 2019. In november, they were joined by Wendy, a developer specialized in tech art.
